simple past :subject + past tens verb + object eg : i did my homework yesterday , i played football on Tuesday , i did not study well .
past continues : subject + was/were + verb+ ing : i was studying when the phone rang , i was stronger than now , you were eating when i came (something happened when you was doing something else)
